So, I was watching tv and I came upon a live Weezer performance. It appeared they were in a basement or something of that ilk. As I watched, they began to play thier newest single, "Hashpipe". As the song went on to the chorus where Rivers(the singer) says the line "I got my hashpipe" I notice that all we, the mtv viewers, are allowed to hear, is "I got my ----pipe". The word HASH was blocked and banned by MTV censors. I find this to be a fucking insult to me, every other viewer, and especially to Weezer. We all tune in to watch Weezer, yet mtv feels it has a right to censor the words that I already know...... This episode reminded me of a moment a few years ago when once again, I was watching mtv and a Everclear video for the song "Heroin Girl" was on. The lyrics in this song are "I'm happy in hell with my heroin girl". But in this case, mtv did not block the word heroin, NO!, instead, they blocked the word "happy". So NOW the lyrics became "I'm ----- in hell with my heroin girl". That is fucking pathetic..... So just remember the next time you think MTV is so great, and groundbreaking, all they are is a facade, hiding a bunch of corporate cocksuckers with no bigger balls than a gnat.... Fuck you MTV,,, fuck you.... |
